Who we are

I'm Eddy Wood. Yes, that's really my name, and yes, I've heard every joke.

My love for woodworking goes back to high school shop class. There was something about turning a rough board into something useful and beautiful that hooked me, and it never let go. Life took me down a different road for a while: 24 years in the military, which taught me to show up, do the job right the first time, and take care of the people around you. Through all of it, the shop was where I came back to.

In 2025, I decided it was time to stop just building for myself and start building for others. That's when Red Clay Woodworks was born. The name comes from the Georgia ground I call home, solid, stubborn, and not going anywhere.

Here's what I believe: quality handmade pieces shouldn't be reserved for people with deep pockets. I build custom signs, retirement gifts, wedding and party favors, and home furnishings that look and feel high-end, at prices working families can actually afford.

Because I'm still serving, I build when the mission allows. That means no mass-produced inventory. Every piece gets my full attention, and I'll always be straight with you about timelines.

I'm proud to be veteran-owned, and I have a soft spot for building for fellow service members, whether it's a retirement gift or a sign for a new home after a PCS.

Local to Woodstock, GA? Pickup is always an option. Have an idea? Send me a custom request and let's build it together.

A fellow veteran-owned shop I'm proud to support: Final Protective Line Customs in Arnoldsville, GA, makes custom plaques, awards, and signs.
